Trent B. is a bona fide lumberjack. Unfortunately, he shaved off his beard before the shoot. Up on the
mountain where I have my hunting cabin; he and the other guys he works with
have been cutting trees to reopen trails, make way for some orchards and to cut
down the elm trees that died from a recent blight. I asked him to model for me
almost from the first day I met him. He was fascinated about my profession
(working with models, the travel and locations) and said he would love to
experience something like that. However, it took almost five months for him to
agree to do a shoot with me. Trent has no hobbies other than loving the
outdoors and enjoys taking his young son with him to go fishing and hiking. He
also hunts deer during archery season; which he prefers over rifles. The
weather has been crazy, going back and forth from freezing to rain and muddy
with warm temperatures. Bravely, Trent bared the cold on a day just above
freezing and took his shirt off for a few photos; the sun was out but
there was a brisk and chilly wind. We took a few final photos and finished the shoot inside my cabin while
warming up from the cold.
